A rematch of the 2013 World Cup final, this has a scheduled start of 7.30pm AEST and is the first of Australia’s seven group games.
Australia are the undisputed tournament favourites, having dominated their warm-up matches and boasting a line-up bristling with world-class talent.

Captain Meg Lanning lays claim to being the world’s best batter — though star teammate Ellyse Perry is one who could challenge her for that title.
In Kristen Beams and Jess Jonassen, Australia have a pair of outstanding spinners to complement the team’s quicks.
They won’t have all the running, however, with the West Indies — led by the devastating Stefanie Taylor, who was the second-leading run-scorer at the 2013 World Cup — no shrinking violets.

","contentType":"HTML","html":"No man, women or animal can rival the recent accomplishments of Paul as a sports administrator, and leader, in this country.
","contentType":"HTML","html":"As the man responsible for negotiating the last Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), across Australia’s two largest professional sports — AFL and cricket — this places him in the rarest of air.
","contentType":"HTML","html":"On both occasions, Paul has been able to manage the relationships of the governing body, the media, the players, the clubs/states, the commercial complexities, and perhaps most importantly, the personalities and egos, with a communication style that fits all types.

","contentType":"HTML","html":"While Rod’s respect was born through fear, Paul’s is earned through his adaptability for all situations, all personalities and him just being a down right quality human being.
","contentType":"HTML","html":"When I asked a number of former, and current-day, professional cricketers to provide me one word that best described Paul Marsh, I received words that led me to believe, and my thoughts were backed up in conversation, that Paul’s impact on Cricket Australia — through the aforementioned skill set — was sorely missed.

","contentType":"HTML","html":"But CA are clearly acting like menacing sharks who have been presented with fresh and bleeding meat.
","contentType":"HTML","html":"They know that Alistair is negotiating his first dance, and by cutting Alistair and the ACA out of the current negotiation, by sending the most recent offer directly to the players, there is no clearer sign that CA have made their intentions clear: by discrediting, disrespecting and swallowing the fresh meat, their access to dictating the best outcome, for them, will see a five-year span of more meat and blood than they can share among themselves.
