Teddington in a hurry to wrap up another Middlesex County League title (From Sutton Guardian)
Skipper James Keightley starred for Teddington at derby rivals Richmond, but the match was over so quickly it beat the Richmond & Twickenham Times cameras.
Keightley claimed 4-6 off only seven overs as the hosts were dismissed for just 47 at Old Deer Park, before he hit 19 not out alongside opening partner Tom Twiney (25*) to claim maximum points from a match that lasted fewer than 33 overs in all.
The victory kept Middlesex County Cricket League Premier Division leaders Teddington six points clear of nearest challengers North Middlesex, who beat Twickenham by seven wickets in a rain-interrupted match taking place on the Green.
Relegation-threatened Ts posted 240-8 off thanks to Don Manuwelge (43), Marc Lezar (64) and skipper Carlos Nunes (43), but the visitors reached 189-3 to win via the Duckworth-Lewis method.
It means Twickenham – with only one limited-overs win all season – are just four points above the dropzone with only Hampstead and relegated Eastcote to play.
All-rounder John Olive has taken 31 wickets and scored 494 runs this season to leave Barnes still in the Division Two promotion hunt.
Victory at home to Hornsey on Saturday lifted them into second place in the table – a point ahead of Brondesbury and Indian Gymkhana with two games to go.
Fixtures: Richmond v Shepherds Bush, Hampstead v Twickenham, Teddington v Southgate, Indian Gymkhana v Barnes.
