An early season problem that most village cricketers face playing on uncovered wickets is the playing of cricket on wet or damp pitches. Most cricketers come from a winter net practice environment where the ball is coming on consistently then at the start of their playing season they are presented and forced to play on wet cricket pitches. This is tougher than a lot of people realise and whilst yes the pace of the bowling is generally slower, the village / club cricketer has to be able to check his shots and also to play the ball more off the wicket than a player playing on covered wickets. Don Bradman played all of his cricket on uncovered wickets and he was and is the best batsman ever -- whilst I think Sachin is great -- he is not even close to the Don. Playing on uncovered wet / damp cricket pitches is extremely tough, go over this video and hopefully you will gain some insight into how I do things and place yourself in a better position to improve your game. Training and more specific lesson on how to prepare ourselves to deal with these game situations will follow. That's it get practicing and training - plus please share this cricket coaching video.
